I have to admit, I’ve been a bit overwhelmed lately. The last week brought an opportunity to head to the Aspen Winter X Games to attempt the World Record for Most Hugs in a 24 hour period (currently 5,000 held by Ireland). I have been scrambling through work, trying to organize banners, bookmarks and help. So far so good.
The dogs are loving the snow we’ve had recently. Our trail is fully covered again and whiteout conditions are becoming standard. Although November was colder by far than January is now.
I got the job of clipping toenails, which lets me spend a little time with each dog. Sara helped out, holding the dogs still for me while I clipped. She was awesome.
Tours have been good and steady with people respecting the dogs. I redeemed myself with a solo tour the other day where I was the only guide with two sleds. I made a save as a woman fell off her sled. Not the most graceful save as I raced up to jump onto the runaway sled, but it worked.
I’m ready to hug, so wish me luck!
