7:30 am. 28 degrees.

The last few days have warmed up to temps in the fifties. That combined with hunters across the property means a few days of rest for the dogs. Daily chores have been quick and easy with Bill helping and picking up everything quickly.

Yesterday I took off the bags from the sleds, ready to wash and get ready for winter. I found a tiny bird’s nest with a hole for one egg made from the seeds of tall grasses that had blown in. Mama kitty caught a mouse and generously tried to share it with me. I declined and she wailed for a while, thinking that might convince me, but alas, she decided to take a nap in one of the sled bags.

The guys dug holes for posts for a new shed for the snowmobiles, hopefully to help them last a little longer. Everyone, even the dogs seem to be ready for the tours to start.

Now all we need is some snow!
